My Mission
Talent can only take you so far. You need to have the pride and passion to want to become a successful and positive force in the journalism industry. While many arrive to college not knowing where they hope his/her career leads them, my goal of becoming a member of this competitive industry has been clear for years. My hard work and determination has guided me through successful broadcast journalism programs in high school and now at Penn State. Whether it is reporting on a rebuilding pizzeria, or calling the game winning touchdown for Penn State on the radio, I can say my passion to continue this as my career has never been higher. My name is Chris DiGiacomo, and I am looking for an opportunity in the sports broadcasting profession.
I am currently the head play-by-play voice of Goldey-Beacom College basketball, covering both the men's and women's games. My greatest television sports broadcasting position came at Penn State, when I worked at the Centre County Report. My positions included sports anchor/reporter and show producer, and I am hoping this will be the perfect stepping-stone to transitioning to a professional work environment. Whether it be anchoring, producing, or reporting, I know that whatever task is handed to me I will perform to the standards required to complete the task.
I currently reside in the Philadelphia suburbs, and I am available immediately.
My Signature Centre County Report Sportscast: Penn State takes down Illinois on buzzer beater.
This was our Friday newscast a day after Penn State's thrilling victory over Illinois. My voice is under the highlight and I was able to show a great deal of emotion and passion during the newscast.
